Українознавство та історична пам’ять: генеза термінології і спорідненість методології

У статті розглянуто проблеми генези термінології історичної пам’яті та
методологічної спорідненості українознавства та студій пам’яті. Попри інституалізацію
студій пам’яті та українознавства постійний розвиток українського суспільства потребує
періодичного перегляду або узгодження певних засадничих питань цих галузей науки. Першим
таким питанням є розгляд терміна «історична пам’ять» та спроба зрозуміти, що здебіль-
шого розуміється під цим терміном. Адже його доволі часте використання в ЗМІ або в на-
укових статтях без чіткої дефініції призводить до розмивання самого терміна та постій-
ної необхідності уточнювати, про що саме йдеться. Таку ситуацію спостерігаємо не тільки
у вітчизняних джерелах, але і в західних. Загалом можна констатувати, що існує швидше
загальне відчуття того, що таке історична пам’ять, ніж чітка дефініція цього поняття.
Більшість проаналізованих визначень показує, що всі так чи інакше сходяться на тому, що
історична пам’ять є соціально сконструйованим явищем. Розглянуто визначення, що наво-
дяться в різних ЗМІ, словниках, наукових статтях та Вікіпедії. Проаналізовано два осно-
вних критичних зауваження щодо правомірності існування терміна «історична пам’ять»:
тавтологічність терміна та внутрішня суперечність. Розкрито особливість історичної
пам’яті, яка має в собі як індивідуальний, так і колективний рівень, на відміну від колектив-
ної пам’яті. Окремо приділено увагу методологічній спорідненості досліджень українознав-
ства та історичної пам’яті. Зазначено, що, з одного боку, українознавство переусвідомлює
змісти історичної пам’яті українців крізь призму національного погляду на світову історію,
а з другого – дослідження пам’яті є іманентним засобом українознавчих досліджень. Також в
українознавстві та студіях пам’яті впливовими методами досліджень стають постмодер-
ністські методології, що дозволяють перейти від «історії події» до «історії людей».
